Questions before you start

  • What does Tailkeeper cost? You pay per aircraft, never per person; all owners, guests and flight schools are included. The current prices are on tailkeeper.eu under Pricing, with a calculator for your aircraft.
  • How long can I test it? The trial runs from creating the co-ownership, without payment details and with everything Plus contains.
  • What happens after the trial without a licence? Your books stay readable, and you can download everything; changes need a licence again.
  • Does every owner need an account? No. The accountant can run everything alone. Owners with an account see their own flights and balance and enter flights themselves.
  • Can I take over data from Excel? Payments come in with a bank statement as CSV. Enter the balance of your accounts as the opening balance at the start of the bank account; earlier years do not need to be booked again.
  • Where is the data? On a server in Germany, backed up encrypted every day with a copy at a second provider in the EU. Receipts and documents are stored encrypted.
  • What is the beta? New functions come to the beta first, a version on the same data as the stable version. If you are invited, you join under Settings › My account › Updates, accept the beta test terms and can go back at any time; your account and data stay the same. Feedback goes through "Feedback on the beta" under Help and contact.
  • Can I leave at any time? Yes. The full export puts every year as CSV, the owners, shares and all receipts into an encrypted ZIP file you can read without Tailkeeper.

What you need

  • Browser: a current Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari on a computer, tablet or phone. On a phone you add Tailkeeper to the home screen like an app.
  • Internet: for signing in and syncing. You also enter flights, costs and defects without a connection; they go to the server at the next contact.
  • Mail: an address for the code when signing in and for notifications. An authenticator app or a passkey works instead of the code.
  • Windows app: coming later; until then Tailkeeper runs in the browser.
